Setting up Trusona for Barracuda Managed Workplace using 2-Step Verification with TOTP

This guide details the steps required for admins to set up Trusona as a 2-step verification authenticator with TOTP for Barrachuda Managed Workplace Admin & Users accounts

Installing the Trusona App

Before you get started with the instructions below you'll need to install and register with the Trusona App.

  1. Download the Trusona App on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Follow the registration steps in the App.
  3. Verify your email by clicking the link from Trusona.
  4. You're setup and ready to go!

1. Barracuda Workplace (Users)

1.1. Log in to Barracuda Managed Workplace

Log in to Barracuda Managed Workplace.

1.2. Accessing Multi-Factor Authentication

Access the Multi-Factor Authentication page and click on Continue. Be sure to have the Trusona app installed on a mobile device before proceeding.

1.3. Scan the QR Code

A QR code will be shown on the screen.

  1. Open the Trusona app, and tap on the Settings menu
  2. Tap 2-step verification (TOTP)
  3. Scan the QR code
  4. Type in the number you see from the Trusona app

1.4. Finalize

Enter the code from the app into the screen, then click on Continue. After that, YOU MUST LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT to finalize applying this security feature to your account.

Setup complete! The next time you log in to Barracuda Managed Workplace and are prompted for a One-time passcode, you can use the Trusona app to log in.

2. Barracuda Workplace (Admins)

2.1. Log in to Barracuda Managed Workplace

Log in to Barracuda Managed Workplace.

2.2. Accessing Security Services

From the Service Center, click on Configuration and then click on User Management

2.3. Choosing the Security Scope

You will have two options for enabling multi-factor authentication:

  • You can select specific user accounts to apply the security policy by selecting each account’s checkbox
  • You can select all accounts to apply the security policy by selecting the checkbox in the table header

2.4. Applying Security Actions

Once you have selected the checkboxes, simply click on More Actions and then select Enable multi-factor authentication.

2.5. Finalize

Be sure to click on SAVE to ensure the new security policy is applied.

Setup complete! The next time users log in to Barracuda Managed Workplace and are prompted for a One-time passcode, they can use the Trusona app to log in.

Warning icons that appear on a user's account indicate that the multi-factor authentication feature has been enabled, but that the user still needs to complete the configuration process
