Setting up Trusona for Barracuda Cloud Control using 2-Step Verification with TOTP

This guide details the steps required to set up Trusona as a 2-step verification authenticator with TOTP for Barracuda Cloud Control

Installing the Trusona App

Before you get started with the instructions below you'll need to install and register with the Trusona App.

  1. Download the Trusona App on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Follow the registration steps in the App.
  3. Verify your email by clicking the link from Trusona.
  4. You're setup and ready to go!

Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication TOTP for All Users

1. Log in to Barracuda Cloud Control Admin Accounts

Log in to the admin accounts for Barracuda Cloud Control

2. Options and Multi-Factor Authentication

Once logged in, click on Options and then scroll down to the Multi-Factor Authentication section

3. Requirement Settings for Multi-Factor Authentication

In the Multi-Factor Authentication section, click on the Required option, and then click on Save. All users for the account are now required to use multi-factor authentication to log in.

If the admin user account has not set up Multi-Factor Authentication, they will be redirected to the setup page. Any Barracuda Partner accounts that have access to customer accounts that are required to use multi-factor authentication will have to set up the security feature as well.

4. Setting Up the Trusona App

Before users do anything else, make sure they have installed the Trusona app on their mobile device before proceeding to set up the MFA security feature.

5. Logging Back In

Users should log out of their accounts and then log back in using their same credentials again.

6. Scan the QR Code

A QR code will be shown on the screen.

  1. Open the Trusona app, and tap on the Settings menu
  2. Tap 2-step verification (TOTP)
  3. Scan the QR code
  4. Type in the number you see from the Trusona app

7. Finalize

Enter the code from the app into the screen, then click Continue. If done correctly, the user should have been able to log in successfully.

Setup complete! The next time a user logs in to their User Account, enter their account password and are prompted for a One-time passcode, they can use the Trusona app to complete the log in process.

8. Log in to Cloud Control

9. Access My Profile

From the dropdown menu, click on My Profile

10. The Multi-Factor Authentication Feature

Locate the Multi-Factor Authentication section, and then click on Add New Device.

11. Scan the QR Code

A QR code will be shown on the screen.

  1. Open the Trusona app, and tap on the Settings menu
  2. Tap 2-step verification (TOTP)
  3. Scan the QR code
  4. Type in the number you see from the Trusona app

12. Finalize

Enter the code from the app into the screen, then click Save. If done correctly, the user now be able to see their device registered under the Multi-Factor Authentication section.

Setup complete! The next time you log in to your account and are prompted for a One-time passcode, you can use the Trusona app to log in.
